Will Sabrina's Petsitting be expanding anytime soon?
The plans for expanding have fallen through. For now, Sabrina's Petsitting will function in the regular area of Chittenden or Addison Counties in Vermont. Hopefully, expansion will occur in the future!  Currently, Sabrina will be taking jobs that can be done with her young daughter. It's a great way to keep our business running while still offering the best care around.

When I call to schedule an appointment, who will it be with?
Currently, Sabrina is the primary person taking jobs. If unavailable, she will refer another assistant. Sabrina's husband, Jaime, is also listed on the insurance plan in case a client ever needs help but doesn't want to take the time to hire another company to take over.  For the meeting, you will be introduced to Sabrina unless someone else will be taking the job. In that case, you will have been notified ahead of time and will meet with that person.

How long has Sabrina been caring for animals and what experience does she have?
For as long as she can remember, she has had pets. They ranged from mice to livestock but all were loved equally. Her experience is with reptiles, birds, rodents, livestock, equine, and aquatics. She graduated from UVM with a degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Preveterinary medicine and had pre-acceptance to vet school. She worked as a veterinary technician for many years until she had her daughter (see question on why didn't Sabrina go to vet school for a laugh!). Knowing that she loves animals and would never find a job to fit her needs, she decided to grow her petsitting business. It's hard to beat a lifetime of wonderful animal care!

What pets does Sabrina's Petsitting have now?
-Sabrina personally has two Pekingese, two kitties, chickens, and captive-bred turtles. When not at home, her husband cares for the gang and Sabrina visits for a couple hours each day/night to make sure everyone has play time still.

Does your company barter and what forms of payment are acceptable?
In terms of payment, cash and check are the most common. Debit and credit cards can be used through Paypal as well. See our Payments and Contract page for more info. In special circumstances, we will barter services since we understand not everyone can afford top care in this economy. We prefer not to do this, but it's worth asking.

Why didn't Sabrina go to Vet school if she had the knowledge and acceptance?
While trying for her daughter, Sabrina cut back on her hours as a veterinary technician (there are some things you just shouldn't do while trying to start a family). While with child, she couldn't stand the sight of blood, exudate, scabs, or painful situations without getting horribly ill. Thinking it would go away after having the baby, she continued to try working a few shifts here and there. Well, at 1 year post-delivery, she still gets queasy at the sight of surgery which put a halt to the plans of being an orthopaedic surgeon for companion animals.

I'll be with Heather...what's her background like?
A fifth-generation family farmer, she runs a riding ranch in Shelburne, VT. She has 3 dogs and would have more if space permitted! Along with the dogs, she has many horses, chickens, goats, and helps her Grandfather with his cows. Her strong points are obviously livestock but she loves most other animals. Rodents aren't on her petsitting list so if this is all you have for pets, you probably won't get to meet Heather!

If you have any other questions, please give us a shout so we can address it immediately. We also take requests if you prefer to have Sabrina, Heather, or Jaime care for your pet. We're all great, but we understand that certain pets react to specific personalities better than others.
